A beautiful home in Roslyn, NSW – which was once an overnight staging post for the Cobb & co stage coach,

We completely re-clad their flat roof. The original bitumen membrane had failed allowing water to enter the roof space every time it rained.

On this job our approach was to:

  • Remove the old membrane were ever it was flaky or lose
  • Re-apply a new bitumen membrane over the top of the existing one
  • Install 1.6mm galvanized sheeting and flashing across the entire roof space

The new roof cladding was then painted with 2 coats of SolarGuard

Flashing’s around the existing sky lights

Every sheet and flashing over lap was made with at least 100mm overlap and then screwed & pop riveted down

Each overlap was first coated in silicone sealant under each joint in order to ensure a water tight overlap.

Prior to installing the sheeting and membrane we first constructed a raised valley system so was to ensure the roof had a fall built into it to enable water run off.

We also flashed up the walls of the adjoining roofs.

What was once a leaky roof was now water tight and fit for years of service.
